Jennies Set to Take On FHSU in MIAA Semifinals

Opening Kick
• Jennies Soccer opened up postseason play with a 4-0 shutout win over eighth-seeded Emporia State in the MIAA Tournament Quarterfinals. As the highest remaining seed (No. 1) Central Missouri will host both semifinal matches and the championship match at Jennies Field.
• UCM will play fourth-seeded Fort Hays State on Friday, Nov. 3, at 4 p.m. If the Jens win they will play the winner of No. 2 Missouri Western and No. 6 Washburn matchup on Sunday, Nov. 5, at 1 p.m.

On the Air
• The game will be webcast online through Central Missouri's Blueframe Internet portal at http://www.themiaanetwork.com/ucmmules/. All three matches will be broadcast on the MIAA Network on a PPV (pay-per-view) basis. The subscription fee of $10 will include all three matches.
• All MIAA soccer games are also available for viewing on The MIAA Network Apps for Amazon Fire TV, Android TV, Apple TV and Roku.

Series History
Fort Hays State: UCM leads 8-2-0
UCM and Fort Hays State went to head-to-head earlier this season in Hays, Kan. The Jennies walked away with a 2-0 win over the Tigers. These two teams met twice in 2016, once in an MIAA match and the other in the Central Region Championship. The Jennies shutout the Tigers both times by the exact score of 1-0 in both meetings. Last season both UCM and FHSU finished 10-1 in MIAA action to claim a share of the MIAA regular Season Title. In the series, UCM has won the last four matches against Fort Hays State.

Scouting the Competition
Fort Hays State    
• The Tigers finished the regular season 10-5-3 overall with a 7-3-1 mark in the MIAA. The are the No. 4 seed in the MIAA Tournament and defeated Missouri Southern 11-10 on PKs after a 0-0 tie in the first round to advance to the MIAA Semifinals.
• Offensively, Eden Stoddard leads the way for the Tigers offense with 21 points on eight goals and five assists. Her 21 points, eight goals, and five assists lead the team and her five assists are among the top five in the MIAA. Darby Hirsch ties the team lead for assists with five, which is also tied for fifth most in the MIAA.
• Blake Reynolds is in his first season as head coach for the Tigers. Prior to joining Fort Hays State he was at Kansas Wesleyan for four years. He is the second coach in the program's history. 

Missouri Western    
• The Griffons had their best regular season finish in program history finishing with a 15-3 record overall and went 9-2 in MIAA play to claim the No. 2 seed in the MIAA Tournament. The Griffons defeated Central Oklahoma 2-1 to advance to the semifinals.
• Offensively, the point of attack for the Griffons runs through Cassidy Menke. Her 15 goals not only leads the team but are tops in the MIAA. Her 33 points (15g, 3a) are tied for second most in the MIAA with UCM's Abby Rhodes. Helping out on offense is Sydney Cluck with a team-high eight assists and eight goals. Her eight assists are second most in the MIAA. 
• Defensively, the Griffons have allowed 11 goals this season, which is second best behind UCM (2). In net, MWSU has used three different goalkeepers, but Sarah Lyle has seen the most action playing in 17 games, with 14 starts. Lyle is 14-3-0 in net this season.

Washburn    
• The Ichabods finished the regular season 9-8-1 overall and 5-6-0 in the MIAA. The Ichabods were the only team to pull off an upset bid as they defeated No. 3 seeded Northeastern State 1-0 to advance to the semifinals.
• Offensively, Ellie Karloff leads the way for the Ichabods thus far. She has 10 points on five goals scored to lead in scoring. Tera Lynch and Paige Ledesma lead the way in assists with three apiece. 
• On the defensive end, Kaitlin Minnich has started all 18 games in net for Washburn. She has grabbed 104 saves and allowed 21 goals this season. Her 104 saves this season are third-most in the MIAA.

The Best Defense is a Good Offense
• The Jennies 69 goals scored this season ranks them in the top five in Division II in total goals at third.
• The Jennies are averaging 3.63 goals per game this season which ranks third in Division II in scoring offense.
• UCM's 34 assists this season are second most in the MIAA and is tied for 21st most in Division II.
• With 172 points total on 69 goals scored and 34 assists, the Jennies are fourth in Division II in total points.
• In 19 games this season, UCM outscored opponents 69-2 with a 396-152 shots advantage.

Numbers Never Lie
• The Jennies posted 17 shutouts in 19 of their wins this season and their two goals allowed is the least allowed in Division II this season.
• The Jennies all-around defense in shutouts (17), shutout percentage (.889), goals-against average (.110), and save percentage (.970) leads all of Division II this season.
• The Jennies are only team in Division II that has allowed just two goals this season. The Jennies two goals allowed is least allowed in the MIAA. The next closest team is Missouri Western with 11 goals allowed.

One for the Record Books
• The 2017 squad is the first team in program history and MIAA history to post 12 consecutive shutouts. 
• UCM was just the fourth team in NCAA Division II history to post 12 consecutive shutouts
• Dating back to the 2015 season, UCM has scored a goal in 51 straight games which is an MIAA record.
Ana Dilkes is the only goalkeeper in MIAA history to post 12 consecutive shutouts. She is the all-time Division II leader in career shutouts with 60.
• The Jennies are 19-0-0 for just the second time in program history. The last team to start the season 19-0-0 was the 2010 squad for UCM.

Road Warriors
• On the road, the Jennies are still just as good as at home. In 10 regular season road games, the Jennies went 10-0.
• The Jennies posted shutouts in all 10 of their regular season road wins while outscoring their opponents a combined 34-0. 
• Under Head Coach Lewis Theobald UCM is 80-15-10 in road games in 11 seasons of play. 

There's No Place Like Home
• Dating back to the 2016 season, the Jennies are 23-0-0 at Jennies Field and have allowed just four goals in that span.
• The Jennies have outscored opponents 71-4 in goals at home since 2016, and have allowed just two goals at home this season in eight games.
• All-time at Jennies Field, UCM is 133-26-7 with a .822 winning percentage. Under Head Coach Lewis Theobald, the Jennies are 104-9-5 at home since 2007 and have posted undefeated home records three times.
