Opening Kick
• Jennies Soccer kicks off postseason play this week as the No. 1 seed in the MIAA Tournament. The Jennies earned the No. 1 seed after finishing the regular season 18-0 overall, 11-0 in MIAA play, and claiming their eighth straight MIAA Regular Season crown. As the top seed, the Jennies will host Emporia State on Wednesday Nov. 1 at 6 p.m. at Jennies Field.
• For the fourth straight week, the Jennies are No. 1 in the nation in the latest set of United Soccer Coaches' Poll. The Jennies held down the top spot after being the only team in Division II to finish the regular season undefeated without a tie.
• In the first two sets of the NCAA Regional rankings, UCM was ranked first in the Central Region. The top six teams in the final regional rankings will qualify for the NCAA Division II Women's Soccer Tournament. The selection show will reveal who the top six teams will be on Nov. 6 at 5 p.m. central time.
• The Jennies ended the regular season winning two of the three the MIAA Soccer Athlete of the Week honors. It is eighth time in the nine weeks of the regular season the Jennies had a player selected as an MIAA Soccer Athlete of the Week.
Jada Scott earned her straight and fourth overall Offensive Player of the Week honor, while
Allysa Gann checked in as the Defender of the Week for UCM and it is her first career honor.
Series History
Emporia State: UCM leads 22-3-2
Emporia State was just one of two teams to score against Central Missouri during the regular season. The Hornets did snap the Jennies shutout streak of 12 straight, but the Jennies walked away with the 2-1 win. The Jennies and Hornets were in a low scoring affair when they met in 2016. UCM walked away with the 1-0 win over ESU and has won its last 18 of 19 matches against ESU. The Hornets last defeated the Jennies in 2005.
Scouting the Competition
Emporia State
• The Hornets are the No. 8 seed in the MIAA Tournament after finishing the regular season 8-8-2 overall with a 4-6-1 mark in MIAA competition. The Hornets are currently on a two game winning streak and will look to play spoiler against the top-ranked Central Missouri Jennies.
• The Hornets two wins in the final week of the regular season came against Washburn and Nebraska-Kearney to guarantee them the final spot in the MIAA Tournament. It took two overtime periods for the Hornets to down UNK in the regular season finale, 1-0.
• The Hornets fared better on the road than at home this season as they went 4-3-1 in eight games. At home, the Hornets were just 2-4-1 at the ESU Soccer Pitch.
• In the last meeting between the Hornets and Jennies, the Hornets snapped the Jennies 12 game shutout streak as they were the first team to score a goal against the Jennies this season. Despite giving up the goal, UCM rallied and scored two goals to secure the 2-1 come from behind win.
• Offensively, Olivia Miller leads the way for the Hornets with 13 points on five goals and three assists. She is the only ESU player in double-figure points. Her five goals are the most on the team while her three assists are tied for second most.
• As a team, the Hornets offense scored 24 goals overall and tallied 14 assists for 62 points during the regular season. ESU averaged 1.333 goals per game which was fifth best in the MIAA this season.
• Defensively, the Hornets allowed 24 goals with 16 assists for a total of 64 points during the regular season. Their goals against average of 1.265 were eighth best in the conference. The Hornets tallied 102 saves in net which was second most in the MIAA behind only Lindenwood (124).
The Best Defense is a Good Offense
• The Jennies 65 goals scored this season ranks them in the top five in Division II in total goals at third.
• The Jennies are averaging 3.61 goals per game this season which ranks third in Division II in scoring offense.
• UCM's 34 assists this season is tied for the most in the MIAA and is tied for 21st most in Division II.
• With 164 points total on 60 goals scored and 33 assists, the Jennies are fourth in Division II in total points.
• In 18 regular season games, UCM outscored opponents 65-2 with a 367-145 shots advantage.
Numbers Never Lie
• The Jennies posted 16 shutouts in 18 of their wins during the regular season and their two goals allowed is the least allowed in Division II this season.
• The Jennies all-around defense in shutouts (16), shutout percentage (.889), goals-against average (.111), and save percentage (.969) leads all of Division II this season.
• The Jennies are only team in Division II that has allowed just two goals this season. The Jennies two goals allowed is least allowed in the MIAA. The next closest team is Missouri Western with 10 goals allowed.
One for the Record Books
• The 2017 squad is the first team in program history and MIAA history to post 12 consecutive shutouts.
• UCM was just the fourth team in NCAA Division II history to post 12 consecutive shutouts
• Dating back to the 2015 season, UCM has scored a goal in 51 straight games which is an MIAA record.

Ana Dilkes is the only goalkeeper in MIAA history to post 12 consecutive shutouts.
• The Jennies are 18-0-0 for just the second time in program history. The last team to start the season 18-0-0 was the 2010 squad for UCM.
Road Warriors
• On the road, the Jennies are still just as good as at home. In 10 regular season road games, the Jennies went 10-0.
• The Jennies posted shutouts in all 10 of their regular season road wins while outscoring their opponents a combined 34-0.

• Dating back to the 2016 season, the Jennies are 22-0-0 at Jennies Field and have allowed just four goals in that span.
