Jennies Stay In-State to Begin Four-Game Road Trip

The Week Ahead
• The Jennies will look to stay undefeated as they hit the road for their final four games of the regular season. The Jennies are in-state this weekend for their first two road games. UCM is at Missouri Southern Friday, Oct. 20, for a 6 p.m. match against the Lions. On Sunday, Oct. 22, the Jennies are at Southwest Baptist for a 1 p.m. tilt against the Bearcats.
• The Jennies checked in at No. 1 for the second straight week after improving to 14-0 overall and 7-0 in the MIAA. This is just the second time in program history UCM has earned the No.1 ranking. The Jennies have been ranked in top five every week this season. 
• The Jennies will try to hit another milestone this weekend as they look for the program's 300th win. Entering the weekend, Jennies Soccer is 299-127-30 in nearly 23 full seasons of competition since becoming an NCAA sanctioned sport in 1995.

Series History
Missouri Southern: UCM leads 20-8-2
The Jennies will look to win their fourth straight game against the Lions this Friday. MSSU last defeated UCM in 2013, 2-1, but has since lost three straight. The Jennies have outscored the Lions a combined 61-24 in the series.

Southwest Baptist: UCM leads 27-8-2
The Jennies and Bearcats have met every year since the Jennies inaugural season in 1995. The Jennies have won their previous five matches against the Bearcats, outscoring them a combined 25-3. SBU last defeated UCM in 2007 by a score of 3-2 (2 OT).

Scouting the Competition
Missouri Southern
• Going into the final two weeks of the regular season, Missouri Southern is 2-8-3 overall with a 2-4-1 mark in MIAA action. The Lions two wins have come in conference play against Northwest Missouri and Nebraska-Kearney.
• The Lions currently sit tied for seventh in the MIAA standings with seven points with Emporia State and Lindenwood. Entering the 2017 season the Lions were picked to finish 11th in the Preseason Coaches' Poll. 
• MSSU has an experienced group from last season with 15 players returning, along with eight starters. Taylor Beck leads the way offensively for the Lion squad with four points on two goals scored. 
• Defensively, the Lions have allowed 20 goals in 13 games played which is seventh most in the MIAA. In net, the Lions have used three different goalkeepers. Hannah Stevenson has seen the most action playing in seven games and starting in six. 
• Friday's game will be a reunion, as first year Jennies assistant coach Maddi Moon will coach against her former team for the first time since she left. Moon was the Lions assistant coach in 2016.

Southwest Baptist
• The Bearcats are 2-10-2 overall and 0-6-1 in the MIAA entering week eight of the 2017 season. SBU earned wins over Northwestern Oklahoma State and Missouri Southern in a non-MIAA match.
• The Bearcats are still looking for their first conference win of the season and have lost eight of their last nine games with the other finishing in a tie. Entering the weekend the Bearcats sit 12th in the MIAA standings and were preseason picked finish 12th in the Coaches Poll.
• The Bearcats have a young squad this season as they have 13 freshman players and just three seniors. In between they have a eight juniors five sophomores on this year's squad.
• Offensively, Raegan Edwards has been the leader for SBU scoring four goals for eight points. One goal behind her with three is Brooke Herald. 
• On the defensive end, the Bearcats have gone with two different goalkeepers. Ashlyn Gibbs and Callie Chenoweth have both seen time in net, but Gibbs has played more making 11 starts in all 11 games she has played.

The Best Defense is a Good Offense
• Despite just scoring four goals last weekend, the Jennies 52 goals scored this season still ranks in the top five in Division II in total goals at fourth.
• The Jennies are averaging 3.71 goals per game this season which ranks third in Division II in scoring offense.
• With 130 points total on 52 goals scored and 26 assists, the Jennies are fourth in Division II in total points.
• In 14 games, UCM has outscored opponents 52-2 with a 286-126 shots advantage.

Numbers Never Lie
• The Jennies shutout streak of 12 straight to start the season is the most in UCM history and MIAA history.
• The Jennies all-around defense in shutouts (12) and goals-against average (.143) rank second in Division II, while their save percentage (.964) leads all of Division II this season.
• The Jennies are just one of two teams in Division II this season that has allowed just two goals this season. The Jennies two goals allowed is still the least allowed in the MIAA. The next closest team is Missouri Western with eight goals allowed.

One for the Record Books
• The 2017 squad is the first team in program history and MIAA history to post 12 consecutive shutouts. 
• UCM was just the fourth team in NCAA Division II history to post 12 consecutive shutouts
• Dating back to the 2015 season, UCM has scored a goal in 47 straight games which is an MIAA record.
Ana Dilkes is the only goalkeeper in MIAA history to post 12 consecutive shutouts.
• The Jennies are 14-0-0 for just the second time in program history. The last team to start the season 14-0-0 was the 2010 squad for UCM.

Road Warriors
• On the road, the Jennies are still just as good as at home. They are 6-0 in road games this season. 
• The Jennies have posted shutouts in all six of their road wins this season while outscoring their opponents a combined 21-0. 
• Under Head Coach Lewis Theobald UCM is 76-15-10 in road games in 11 seasons of play.
