Scouting the Competition
Missouri Western
• The Griffons are off to a program-best 5-1 start this season and are currently on a three game winning streak. The Griffons are also coming off their first win at Lindenwood since 2012, when they defeated the Lions 1-0 on Sept. 18.

• The Griffons were picked to finish fifth this season in the MIAA preseason poll. They finished sixth in 2015 and had their best season in program history going 9-8-1 overall, and 5-5-1 in conference play.

• The Griffons return eight starters and 15 letter winners from 2015. They are led by senior Bailey Dervin, junior Sydney Cluck and sophomore Cassidy Menke who all have four points on two goals this season.

• The Griffons have played in three overtime games this season and all five of their wins have been decided by one goal. Their only loss was to Bemidji State, 4-1, back in early September.

• The Griffons are looking for their first win in program history against the Jennies.

Northwest Missouri
• The Bearcats are 2-3 entering week four of the season with wins over Minnesota-Crookston and Sioux Falls. The Bearcats and Jennies met last week with the Jennies shutting out the Bearcats 1-0.

• The Bearcats first match against the Jennies was a regional matchup, but did not count toward conference records.

• The Bearcats have been led by junior Danielle Wolfe and freshman Izzy Romano this season. Wolfe has six points on two goals and four assists. Romano is right behind her with five points on two goals and one assist.

• The Bearcats will host Lindenwood in their last non-conference game on Friday, Sept. 23, then will open up MIAA play when they host Central Missouri Sunday, Sept. 25.

• Northwest Missouri's recent match against Central Missouri was the 33rd overall match between the two schools. The Bearcats last defeated the Jennies in 2008.

• After their recent loss to the Jennies, the Bearcats are now 3-25-4 in the series.
