EDMOND, Okla. -- Mules Baseball started strong but eventually fell to Central Oklahoma 15-7 Saturday afternoon.
Jake Alexander singled home a run in the top of the first inning to start off the scoring.
Cole Distler tripled later in the inning to bring home
Matt Safranek and Alexander to extend the Mules' lead to 3-0.
Ethan Westphal got the start and struck out the side in the bottom half of the first inning.
Derek Cornell added to the lead with a single, bringing home
Jackson Schnurbusch in the second inning. The Bronchos got two back in their half of the inning on a home run.
Bennett Oliver homered in the third inning to give the Mules a 5-2 lead. Cornell singled again in the fourth inning bringing home Schnurbusch and giving Central Missouri a 6-2 lead.
Central Oklahoma scored five runs in the fifth inning taking a 7-6 lead. The Bronchos added eight more runs in the seventh inning to take a 15-6 lead.
Alexander doubled home a run in the ninth, but could not muster any more offense and fell 15-7.
Ethan Westphal was hit with the loss and falls to 2-2 on the season. The Mules drop to 7-7 overall and 6-2 in the MIAA.
The Mules will be back in action tomorrow at noon.
