ST. CHARLES, Mo. – Central Missouri snapped a three game losing streak with a 76-59 win over Lindenwood Wednesday evening in St. Charles. Four Jennies scored in double-figures as UCM moves to 10-16, 9-12 in the MIAA.

Shelby Winkelmann led the Jennies with a game-high 18 points. Ashley Jones picked up her ninth double-double of the season with 13 points and 14 rebounds. Ashley Duffy added 11 and Tayler Weiks scored 10.

The Jennies started out shooting the ball well and it continued all throughout the game as they shot 49% (27-55) from the field and 44% (8-of-18) from three.

UCM opened by scoring game's first five points, getting a three from Duffy on their opening possession and an easy layup from Jones. That lead swelled to nine, 11-2, after Paige Redmond hit a three, forcing a Lions timeout with 5:56 to play in the period.

The Jennies kept up the lead after 10 minutes of play, 22-15. Randle hit a three in the waning seconds of the first and Sydney Crockett scored five points in the period. UCM was 8-of-16 in the frame and 4-of-6 to three as they built their lead.

Lindenwood made a comeback in the second quarter though. After the Jens went up 10 on a three from Weiks, the Lions used a 12-0 run to take their first lead of the game, 27-25.

The two teams traded runs in the second period with the Jens using a 10-0 spurt to regain the lead.

UCM was held scoreless over the final 2:10 and the Lions scored eight straight, including a buzzer-beating three from Charisse Williams, tying the game at 37 heading into intermission.

The Jens played tremendous defense over the second half, allowing just 22 points in the second half. UCM also did so after committing 12 fouls in the first half and six Jennies headed into the second half with two fouls.

The outset of the second half remained tight as both teams were trading buckets. With the game still tied at 50-all, UCM went on a 7-0 run, getting layups from Jones and Randle and a three from Duffy to end the quarter.

The Jens also committed just one foul in the third to get themselves out of their early foul trouble.

The Jens pushed their lead to double-digits, 63-52, on a three from Randle with 6:36 to play. A steal and fast-break layup from Redmond with just over a minute to play sealed the win for the Jennies.

UCM held a 38-30 edge in rebounding, helped by Jones' 14. Winkelmann also grabbed seven and Duffy came down with six. The Jennies defense blocked five shots.

Lindenwood also had four scorers in double-digits. Kassidy Gengenbacher led the team with 15. Williams scored 13 and was 3-of-4 from three. Vanessa Zailo pulled down 13 rebounds.
