ST. CHARLES, Mo. (Nov. 8, 2016) – The results are in and Central Missouri picked up their 20
th win of the season with a 3-0 sweep of Lindenwood Tuesday night (25-19, 25-17, 25-16).
Sisters Kasey and
Kylie Hohlen led the Jennies with nine kills each.
Maddie Jones picked up eight.
Kourtney Thompson handed out 33 assists and
Carly Offerdahl secured 21 digs.
Central Missouri was very efficient on the night, hitting .333 to the Lions .117. The Jennies also outblocked Lindenwood seven to five and picked up three service aces.
Lindenwood jumped out quickly against the Jennies in the first set, building a 10-7 lead. Helped out by a 4-0 run, the Jennies took a 14-13 lead and never trailed again on their way to a 25-19 win. Ky. Hohlen, Jones and
Mackenzie Harding each picked up three kills in the frame.
The Jennies took a 2-1 lead in set two and never looked back. UCM pushed their lead to a set-high eight, 19-11, thanks to a 9-2 run. They cruised from there, winning by that eight-point margin, 25-17.
Central Missouri looked in control, racing out to a 7-2 lead. The Lions fought back though, getting to within one on several occasions. They couldn't overcome UCM though and the Jennies extended their lead, winning by nine, 25-16.
For the Lions, Bailey Dvorak, Sarah Makowski and Aleah Rosenau each landed seven kills. Allyson Clancy passed out 32 assists and Anna Reichert corralled 10 digs.
The Jennies conclude the regular season this weekend, hosting Missouri Western for Senior Night, Friday, Nov. 11. The regular season finale is Saturday, Nov. 12 at Northwest Missouri.
