No. 3 Jennies Soccer set to host NCAA Central Regional

The Week Ahead
• The Jennies won their third straight and fourth overall MIAA Tournament Championship last week as they scored a season high seven goals en route to a 7-0 win over Central Oklahoma. With their win, the Jennies received the MIAA's automatic bid to the NCAA-II Women's Soccer Tournament.

• The Jennies earned the No. 1 seed in the Central Region of the NCAA-II Tournament for the second straight year, making it their seventh straight NCAA-II Tournament appearance and 10th appearance overall. The Jennies will host the No. 4 and 5 seed in Central Oklahoma and Minot State, respectively. 

• Minot State and Central Oklahoma will play Friday, Nov. 11 at 1 p.m., and the Jennies will play the winner of that game on Sunday, Nov. 13 at 1 p.m.

Series History
Minot State: UCM leads 4-0-1
UCM and Minot State will meet for this first time this season and sixth time overall. In the series, the Jennnies have shutout the Beavers in all five of their matches outscoring them 7-0 in that span.

Central Oklahoma: UCM leads 7-4-3
The Bronchos handed the Jennies their ony loss this season, 2-1, back in October on the road. The Jennies avenged that loss when they defeated the Bronchos last week, 7-0, to win the MIAA Tournament Championship.

Scouting the Competition
Central Oklahoma
• The Bronchos are seeded No. 4 in the Central Region after finishing third in the MIAA in the regular season and making it to the MIAA Tournament Championship.

• The Bronchos knocked of Emporia State in the MIAA Quaterfinals then beat second seeded Fort Hays State to make the MIAA Tournament Championship. The Bronchos fell in the title match, 7-0, to the Jennies.

• Under Head Coach Mike Cook, the Bronchos have made the post season 11 times in his 19 seasons.

• The Bronchos match up with Minot State will be the first meeting between the two schools on the soccer pitch.

• Offensively, the Bronchos are led by Katie Killion, Mikayla Lowery, and Caitlin Moore. Killion enters the weekend with 12 goals on the season, while Lowery and Moore each have six assists apiece.

• Defensively, the Bronchos have allowed 27 goals this season. In net, Ally Salls has gotten the majority of starts and enters the weekend with a record of 12-6-1

Minot State    
• The Beavers are the No. 5 seed in the Central Region after winning the Northern Sun regular season title and making it to the NSIC Tournament Semifinals.

• The Beavers were the top seed in the NSIC Tournament and defeated Upper Iowa in the quarterfinals, but fell in double overtime to Augustana, 2-1, in the semifinals.

• This is the second straight and third overall apperance in the national tournament for the Beavers.

• The Beavers match-up with the Bronchos will bethe first meeting between the two schools on the soccer pitch.

• Last season, the Beavers made it to the second round of the Central region, but fell to the Jennies 2-0.

• Offensively, the Beavers are led by Ninfa Ramirez who is first on the team in points, goals, and assists with 47, 18, and 11, respectively. 

• Defensively, the Beavers have given up just 10 goals all season. In net, Erin Rafferty is 11-2-1 on the season entering this weekend.

Numbers Never Lie
• The Jennies reached 19 wins for the fifth time in program history, all of which have come under Head Coach Lewis Theobald.

• The Jennies won their seventh straight and ninth overall MIAA regular season title. Their nine titles is tied for the most in MIAA history.

• The Jennies have allowed just three goals all season, which is the least amount in program history.

• The Jennies have been ranked in the top-five in all 10 regular season and the preseason NSCAA polls in 2016.

• The Jennies 18 shutouts this season is the most in a single season in program history.

The Best Offense is a Good Defense
• In Division-II, Ana Dilkes ranks first in save percentage at .977 and goals against average at .10.

• In Division-II, the Jennies are first in shutout percentage, goals against average, and total goals allowed at .900, .150, and three, respectively.

• The Jennies are first in NCAA-II in shutouts with 18.

• In the MIAA, Jada Scott is first in total goals, points, and assists with 15, 37, and seven, respectively. 

• Offensively, the Jennies are first in the MIAA in total points, goals, and assists with 154, 58, and 38 respectively. They rank first in scoring average with  2.9 goals per game.

There's No Place Like Home
• The Jennies are 11-0 at home this season entering the weekend, which tied for the best record is program history. They went 11-0 in 2014.

• The Jennies have posted 10 shutouts at home this season, which is the most in program history.

• The Jennies allowed just one goal at home in the regular season, which is the least amount in program history.

• The Jennies have outscored their opponents 39-1 at home this season.
