No. 4 Jennies Soccer set to host Washburn in MIAA Quarterfinals

The Week Ahead
• The Jennies finished the regular season with a record of 16-1 overall and 10-1 in the MIAA. The Jennies won the seventh straight and ninth overall MIAA regular season title Sunday and are seeded the No. 1 seed in the MIAA Tournament.

• The Jennies brought home their third straight MIAA Soccer Player of the Week honor. Redshirt sophomore Jada Scott earned offensive player of the week for the second time after scoring five goals last week for the Jennies. Her four goals against Missouri Western were a career-high in a match. Her previous best was three against Southwest Baptist on Oct. 10, 2015. She is also the first UCM player to score four goals in a match since Sarah Bourn did it in 1995 for the Jennies.

• The Jennies checked in at No. 4 in the NSCAA Top 25 poll for the fourth straight week and were No. 1 in the NCAA-II Central Region rankings as of Oct. 26.

• The Jennies begin post-season play Wednesday Nov. 2 in a MIAA Quaterfinal match against the Washburn Ichabods. Wednesday night's match will be rematch between the two teams from last years MIAA Quarterfinals. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m.

Series History
Washburn: UCM leads 18-5-1
UCM and Washburn already met once this season in Topeka, Kan. with the Jennies coming away with a 3-0 victory. The Jennies have won the last 10 match-ups against the Ichabods, outscoring them 29-3. Wednesday's quaterfinal matchup will be a rematch from last years MIAA Quarterfinals between UCM and Washburn. The Jennies defeated the Ichabods at home last season, 2-1, on Nov. 4, 2015 to adavance to the MIAA Semifinals.



Scouting the Competition
Washburn    
• The Ichabods finished the regular season 9-8-1 overall and 5-6 in the MIAA. Their one tie of the year was against Emporia State back in late September.

• The Ichabods will be the No. 8 seed for the second straight year in the MIAA Tournament and will travel to Warrensburg, Mo. to face the Jennies in a quarterfinal rematch from last season.

• The Ichabods closed out the regular season on the road against Fort Hays State and fell 3-0 in the finale. All three goals came in the second half, which was a season high allowed by the Ichabods.

• The Ichabods finished the regular season with 19 goals scored and rank ninth average goals per game with 1.056. As a team they tallied 12 assists and averaged .667 per game.

• Defensively, the Ichabods allowed 18 goals and finished the regular season ranked sixth in goals against average per game with .987.

• Leading the way in the regular season for the Ichabods on offense was junior Morgan El-Attrache with four goals and three assist for 11 points total.

• In net, junior Kaitlin Minnich saw most of the action starting 15 of the 18 games played this season for the Ichabods. In her 15 starts she collected 68 saves and allowed 16 goals. She finished with a regular season record of 7-7-1 and posted five shutouts.

Numbers Never Lie
• The Jennies finished the regular season 16-1 overall. It is just the third time in UCM history they finished the regular season with only one loss.

• The Jennies won their seventh straight and ninth overall MIAA regular season title. Their nine titles is tied for the most in MIAA history.

• The Jennies allowed just three goals in the regular season which is the least amount in program history.

• The Jennies have been ranked in the top-five in all nine regular season and the preseason NSCAA polls in 2016.

• The Jennies 15 shutouts this season is the most in program history.

The Best Offense is a Good Defense
• In Division-II, Ana Dilkes still ranks first in save percentage at .971 and goals against average at .124.

• In Division-II, the Jennies are still first in shutout percentage, goals against average, and total goals allowed at .882, .176, and three, respectively.

• The Jennies are first in NCAA-II in shutouts with 15.

• In the MIAA, Jada Scott is first in total goals and points with 14 and 33, respectively.

• Offensively, the Jennies are first in the MIAA in total points and goals and second in assists with 119, 44, and 31, respectively. They rank first in scoring average with  2.588 goals per game.

There's No Place Like Home
• The Jennies finished the regular season undefeated at home with a record of 8-0. It is just the fourth time in program history they have accomplished that feat.

• The Jennies allowed just one goal at home in the regular season which is the least amount in program history.

• The Jennies outscored their opponents 25-1 at home this regular season.
