HOUSTON, Texas --
Tyler House tossed eight innings of three-hit baseball in his UCM debut and the 22nd-ranked Mules picked up their first win of 2015 with a 2-1 comeback win over Winona State on Friday night at Minute Maid Park.

House (1-0) gave up a first inning run on one hit to Winona State (0-2), but allowed just two hits over the next seven innings. Michael Hommes led off the game for the Warriors with a walk, went to second on a sacrifice bunt and scored on Tyler Nehring's RBI single. That is all the Warriors would get.

The Mules (1-1) were limited offensively through the first two thirds of the game. They didn't come up with their first hit of the night until the sixth inning, but it proved to be enough. Derek Cornell was hit by a pitch to lead off the sixth. After Cornell stole second, Dylan Farrell bunted for a hit and the throw went in to right field allowing Cornell to score the tying run and for Farrell to move up to second. Tony Sandifer flied out to deep center to move Farrell to third and he scored on Matt Milner's RBI groundout to give the Mules a 2-1 lead.

That would prove to be enough for House as he finished with seven strikeouts and just one walk over eight innings. Trevor Ezell came on in the ninth allowing a single and a hit by pitch, but pitched his way out of the jam to record is first save of the season and of his UCM career.

Hayden Krimmer (0-1) took the loss for Winona State after giving up two runs, one earned, on just one hit in five innings of work.
