Jennies Soccer wins MIAA Tournament Championship with overtime victory over Northeastern State

WARRENSBURG, Mo. -- The Jennies Soccer team won its second straight MIAA Tournament Championship with a 1-0 overtime victory against Northeastern State Sunday afternoon. 

The Jens had the first shot of the game in the sixth minute, but Megan Woolley's shot missed wide. Northeastern State had their first shot of the game less than a minute later, but the shot bounced off of the crossbar. The two teams traded shots throughout the first half but the game remained scoreless at halftime.

Kayla Hamner opened the second half with a shot in the 47th minute, but the shot missed wide. The RiverHawks had two chances in the 50th and 51st minute of action but could not find the back of the net on either try. The Jennies outshot NSU 18-7 in regulation.

UCM scored to end the game in the final minute of overtime when Hannah Pyle passed to Megan Woolley who found the back of the net for the 13th time this season. 

Ana Dilkes played the entire game in goal for the Jens and recorded two saves.

The Jens improve to 19-2-0 overall, while NSU falls to 14-5-2 overall.

Central Missouri will find out where they are seeded going into the NCAA Tournament tomorrow night at 5:30 during the selection show.
