Season Statistics (HTML) TAHLEQUAH, Okla. -- The ninth-ranked Jennies scored three unanswered goals to overcome a 2-1 deficit and defeat Northeastern State, 4-2 on Sunday afternoon.
With the victory, the Jennies (13-0-1, 10-0-0 MIAA) kept their unbeaten season alive and ran their win streak to 11 games.
Sophomore forward
Hannah Pyle spotted the Jennies with a 1-0 lead in the 17th minute, taking a pass from
Alex Yockey and putting the ball past the goalkeeper in the low far right post, her fourth score of the season.
The RiverHawks tied the game at 1-1 in the 36th minute on a goal by Melissa Giles from the right wing.
Three minutes later, McKenzie Musella gave Northeastern State a 2-1 lead, converting on a penalty kick.
The Jennies continued to trail heading into the 73rd minute until Yockey found Pyle again from about six yards out and found the corner low post of the goal, tying the game at 2-2.
In the 75th minute, junior
Julie Ireland kicked the game-winner, dropping the ball and putting it in the far low post, making it 3-2.
Mikala Modiri picked up her second assist on the play.
UCM picked up some insurance in the 82nd minute when Ireland found
Erin Robinson on the right wing, who put a rebound in from a save by the goalkeeper, preserving the 4-2 victory. The goal was Robinson's second this season.
Freshman goalkeeper
Ana Dilkes (13-0-1) saved four shots to remain undefeated. She faced six shots on the afternoon.
The Jennies have won the past four matches with Northeastern State and improved to 6-1-1 in the all-time series. UCM held a narrow 17-16 edge in shot attempts (8-6 on goal).
UCM improved to 3-0 when trailing at halftime.
Next up for Central Missouri is Missouri Western. The two foes will play in St. Joseph next Friday, Oct. 24 for a 4 p.m. first kick.
