WARRENSBURG, Mo. --
The fifth-ranked Jennies basketball team collected its fifth win in as many games, defeating visiting Evangel, 93-47 at the Multipurpose Building on Tuesday night.

Central Missouri (5-0) jumped out to an early 7-2 advantage courtesy of a three-pointer by Shelby Winkelmann and a pair of layups by BreAnna Lewis and Revonnia Howard. Winkelmann would go on to score seven of the next nine Jennies points, providing UCM with a 16-4 cushion with 15:03 in the first half.

An 11-2 run by the Jennies aided by six points from Keuna Flax and a three-pointer by Quinnecia Twine bumped the lead to 21, putting UCM ahead, 30-9.

The Jennies ended the opening half outscoring Evangel (3-3) 15-8 with a layup by Flax with 11 seconds before intermission. Central Missouri shot 58.1 percent from the field (18-of-31) and outscored the Crusaders, 28-8 in the paint in the first half.

In the second half, Evangel was only able to cut the deficit to 22 at 53-31 with 15:19 remaining. A 13-2 run over the next six minutes by UCM erased any hope of Evangel climbing back into the game, as Danielle Barry and Winkelmann each scored five points during the span. The lead for the Jennies never dipped below 33 for the remainder of the game, as the Jennies reached their third-consecutive 5-0 start, marking the longest streak in the Jennies program.

Four Jennies finished in double-figures with points, led by Flax with 19. Howard recorded her first double-double with 16 points and 13 rebounds.

The Jennies outscored Evangel 62-16 in the paint and capitalized with 33 points off Crusaders turnovers. Central Missouri's bench contributed 36 points to Evangel's five.

Central Missouri will travel to Arkansas to play Harding University on Friday, November 29 for a 5:30 p.m. tipoff.
