The week ahead...
The No. 11 ranked University of Central Missouri Jennies soccer team will host the Missouri Southern Lions on Thursday, October 10 at 7 p.m. in their lone matchup this week.
Central Missouri made history last Sunday at home against East Central, scoring nine goals in the game. Against Southwest Baptist last Friday, October 4, the Jennies scored eight goals in a single game for the first time since September 4, 2005 against Southwest Minnesota.

Hannah Pyle scored four goals last week in two games. She is tied for the team-lead with six goals and is tied for second with 12 points.
The Jennies have not lost in their past eight matchups (7-0-1) and have allowed one or fewer goals in the last seven games (three goals allowed total).

Missouri Southern: The Jennies lead the all-time series with the Lions 17-7-2. The two teams last played on October 5, 2012 in Joplin, with the Jennies coming out victorious, 3-1.
The Coaches...
Alese Woolard: Alese Woolard is in her fourth season at the helm of the MSSU women's soccer program in 2013 after serving four years as an assistant coach on former head coach Trevor Wachsman's staff from 2006-2009.
In Woolard's third season in 2012, the Lions would get off to a slow start (0-5-1), but Southern would rebound winning three of their next four games defeating Fort Hays State 2-1, and MIAA newcomers Nebraska-Kearney 3-0 and Lindenwood 6-3. Finishing the year with a 5-10-3 overall record, the Lions would qualify for their second consecutive MIAA Post-Season tournament thanks to a 1-0 win in double overtime at Northwest Missouri. Four Lions would earn All-MIAA honors including senior forward Megan Stueve who would finish her career putting together one of the top individual seasons in MSSU soccer program history finishing the year with a MIAA league-leading 13 goals and 27 points, while ranking third in the conference with 59 shots, including 31 on goal. Senior midfielder Candis Clark, senior defender Cortney Sanders and junior forward Tiffany Laughlin were also named All-MIAA honorable mention.
Woolard holds a NSCAA State and Regional Goalkeeping Diploma, as well as an NSCAA Advanced Regional diploma.
Woolard graduated from Southern in 2005 and holds a Master of Education in Workforce Development Education with an emphasis in Adult Education from the University of Arkansas.
Lewis Theobald: Five-time MIAA Coach of the Year, Lewis Theobald is in his seventh season as head coach at Central Missouri with a stunning 102-19-15 record, becoming the all-time winningest coach in Jennies soccer history during the 2012 season. He earned his 100th victory as head coach of the UCM program on Friday, September 27 at Washburn.
He recorded more wins in his first three seasons than any other coach in school history. He was the first assistant at Division I Indiana State, where he was the lead recruiter before coming to UCM.
He is a 1999 graduate of the University of Kansas.
Scouting the week's competition...
Missouri Southern: The Missouri Southern Lions tied in their only game last week with Lindenwood. Junior goalkeeper Beth Hammons recorded 11 saves in all 110 minutes of action.
Offensively, junior forward Katelyn Roberson leads the team in goals with three and leads all Lions with 7 points (one assist).
Defensively, Hammons (1-0-3) has allowed six goals in nine games (one start) this season. She has 38 saves on the year. Fellow goalkeeper, senior Abby Risner (1-4-0), has
made seven starts, allowing six goals and recording 19 saves in 315 minutes.

Jennies freshman forward
Hannah Pyle was named MIAA Offensive Player of the Week on Tuesday. The Lenexa, Kan. native started two games, scoring four goals, including a hat trick in the Jennies' 9-1 win over East Central on October 6.
Staying Hot...
Central Missouri has not lost a game in its last eight contests (7-0-1), the longest current unbeaten streak in the MIAA.
Rhodes stepping in...
Freshman forward
Abby Rhodes received her first career start at goalkeeper, filling in for
Morgan Hartzler on October 6. The Olathe South graduate recorded the win and saved eight shots, holding East Central to one goal.
Stopping their opponents...
After surrendering just two goals last week, the Jennies are now tied for second in the MIAA with eight goals allowed through 10 games (0.80 per game average).
Offensive Firepower
The Central Missouri offense scored 17 goals last week and now has 33 on the season - most in the MIAA. The second-highest total belongs to Central Oklahoma with 20.
Three More Assists for Becky...
Senior
Becky Lackey collected three assists last week, giving her five this year. She now finds herself in a first-place tie with Karley Thomas of Missouri Southern for most in the MIAA.
