(MINOT, N.D.) – For the first time since 2009, the seventh ranked Jennies soccer team (3-0-1) and Minot State failed to find the back of the net, settling for a 0-0 draw in two extra time periods at Herb Parker Stadium Saturday afternoon in Minot, North Dakota.
The Jennies fired 12 shots-on-goal but each time those were right into the hands of Minot State goalie Marie Torres, who had an impressive game-high 12 saves in all 110 minutes of action. Jennies goalkeeper
Jessica Grindstaff posted three saves and played all 110-minutes in-goal. It's the second straight shutout for the Jennies' defense.
The draw is the first for Jennies' soccer since a 0-0 tie against Northwest Missouri State October 1
st of 2009.
Central Missouri's overall record is now 3-0-1 while Minot State's is 2-1-1.
The Jennies return to the pitch next Friday, September 14
th when they travel to Hays, Kansas to open the 2012 MIAA schedule against Fort Hays State University. First-kick is set for 6 p.m. at FHSU Soccer Stadium.
