The week ahead...
      After going 2-0 last week with wins over Washburn and Emporia State, the Jennies will conclude their three match homestand this Friday night against Southwest Baptist at 7 p.m. then travel to Kirksville for a noon, non-league showdown with Truman State Sunday.
     The Jennies defeated Washburn 3-1 last Thursday on goals from Kayla Shain, Bailey Hensley and Alexis Robbers and Emporia State Saturday, 2-0, on goals from Carly Stanley and Robbers. 
     Jennies goalkeeper Jessica Grindstaff got her third shutout in-goal with the 2-0 win over Emporia State and now has an overall record in-goal of 3-0-2. 

Series History...
Southwest Baptist: When the Jennies and Bearcats face-off Friday night, it will mark the 31st meeting between the two programs. The Jennies hold a 21-8-1 advantage in the series. Last season UCM swept the season series, winning at home 4-0 and 6-0 in Bolivar.

Truman State: Sunday's showdown with the Bulldogs will be the 30th meeting between the Jennies and TSU. The Bulldogs hold a 15-11-3 advantage but the Jennies have won the last six meetings, including sweeping the Bulldogs last year, 2-0 at home and 2-0 in Kirksville. 

Head Coach Lewis Theobald...
     Four-time MIAA Coach of the Year, Lewis Theobald is in his sixth season as head coach at Central Missouri and currently has an impressive 85-16-10 record. 
     With the Jennies 4-2 win over Winona State August 31st, Theobald became the all-time winningest coach in Jennies soccer history.
     He recorded more wins in his first three seasons than any other coach in school history. He was the first assistant at Division I Indiana State, where he was the lead recruiter before coming to UCM. 
     He is a 1999 graduate of the University of Kansas. 

The Coaches...
Rob Podeyn, Southwest Baptist: Rob Podeyn is in his fourth season as the coach of the Bearcats. He joined the Bearcats in 2009 after serving as director of soccer operations, assistant sports information director and head women's soccer coach at Northwood University, positions he held since 2006. 
     Podeyn is a 1990 graduate of Dowling College in Oakdale, New York, where he obtained a bachelor of arts degree in English. He later earned a master's degree in athletics and activities administration from William Woods University in 2006.

Mike Cannon, Truman State: Mike Cannon is in his 20th season at the helm of the Truman women's soccer program and is the most successful coach to lead the Bulldog program during its 28 years of existence. With a career record of 253-90-37 (.714), Cannon is the winningest coach in Truman women's soccer history and is ranked seventh all-time in victories amongst Division II coaches.
     During his tenure as head coach, Cannon has had seven players named to the all-American squad by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA). In total, 57 players have been named NSCAA all-region, with 21 landing on the first-team.
     He graduated in 1992 from Truman with a bachelor's degree in English.

Scouting the week's competition...
Southwest Baptist: Southwest Baptist enters the week with an overall record of 5-4-1 overall and are 2-1-1 in the MIAA. The Bearcats are led by Karla Jamison, who has tallied a team-high four goals so far this season. As a team SBU averages 0.98 goals/match while its opponents average 0.76/match. The Bearcats lead the MIAA in cautions issued with 12. 
     The Bearcats starting goalie is Megan Link. She has a 4-3-0 record in-goal with 51 saves and a goals-against-average of 0.78. She has compiled five shutouts so far in 2012. 

Truman State: The Bulldogs enter the week with an overall record of 6-2-0 and are 3-1-0 in the MIAA. Truman is led by Trisha Shoemaker, who has a team-high eight goals scored. As a team Truman averages 2.12 goals/match while holding its opponents to only 0.75/match. The Bulldogs average 15.9 shots/match while their opponents average 9.8/match. 
     Truman's goalkeeper is Emily Bozdeck. Her record in-goal is 6-2-0 with a goals-against-average of 0.75 and 30 saves to go along with five shutouts. 

Robbers nets third and fourth goals
     Jennies freshman striker Alexis Robbers scored two goals this past week. The first came in the 79th minute of the Jens 3-1 win over Washburn Thursday and the second was Saturday in the 51st minute in UCM's 2-0 shutout win over Emporia State. Robbers now has four goals, tying for the team lead with fellow teammate Becky Lackey

Hensley gets first goal, assist of collegiate career
     Freshman forward Bailey Hensley notched the game-winning-goal in the Jennies 3-1 win over Washburn Thursday afternoon. It came in the 75th minute and marked her first collegiate goal. Saturday in the win over Emporia State, Hensley provided the assist to Robbers goal in the 51st minute, also a first of her collegiate career. 

Assists leader
     Senior defender Jenna Stones delivered an assist in each match last week, both from perfectly placed free-kicks. Stones now leads the Jennies in assists with two while fellow teammates Aaryn Burke, Hensley, Becky Lackey and Carly Stanley each have one. 

Shutout...number three
     Jennies junior goalkeeper Jessica Grindstaff picked up her team-high third shutout in-goal Saturday with the 2-0 victory against Emporia State. The Lee's Summit native now has an in-goal record of 3-0-2 with  14 saves and a goals-against-average of 0.53, only allowing three goals so far in 2012. Her goals-against average ranks second in the MIAA and her shutout tally ties her for third in the conference. 

Veteran experience
     The Jennies return all but two of their starters from last season, led by seniors Audrey Copenhaver, Kayla Shain, Kelsie Hanson, Jenna Stones, Kourtney Frank and Aaryn Burke.
     Copenhaver, Shain, Hanson and Stones will wear the captain's armband this season. 

A new year, a new region
    Central Missouri will no longer be a member of the South Central Region. Beginning this season, the Jennies will compete in the Central Region, composed of the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (NSIC), Great American Conference (GAC) and the Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA).
