(WARRENSBURG, Mo.) - University of Central Missouri Jennies soccer (5-0-2, 2-0-1 MIAA) scored three-goals in a span of four-minutes late in the second half, leading them to a come-from-behind 3-1 win over the Washburn Lady Blues (1-5-0, 1-1-0 MIAA) Thursday evening at the South Recreation Complex in Warrensburg.

The Lady Blues netted the first goal of the contest just four minutes in. Lindsey Lambert sent a ball from 15 yards out on the left side of the field barreling into the upper right corner of the goal, giving Washburn the 1-0 lead. The Jennies outshot Washburn 5-3 in half number one but couldn't capitalize on those chances.

The beginning of the second half was much like the first half for the first 74 minutes. The Jennies controlled possession but couldn't find the back of the net.

That drastically changed in the 75th minute, Jennies senior midfielder Kayla Shain controlled the ball on the left side of the box and was able to slide it just out of the reach of Washburn goalie Tori Fuglister to the left corner of the goal, knotting the match up 1-1. That opened the flood gates for the Jennies offense as just 53 seconds later freshman forward Bailey Hensley dashed past Fuglister when she came off her line and smashed the ball into a wide-open net, giving the Jennies a 2-1 lead and the first goal of her collegiate career. Fellow freshman striker Alexis Robbers provided an insurance goal for Central Missouri when she headed in Jenna Stones' long free kick four minutes later in the 79th minute, making it 3-1 Jennies. Robbers now has three goals on the season while Shain has two. It was Stones' first assist this season.

The Jennies outshot the Lady Blues 15-4 in the match, and limited Washburn to just one shot in the second half. Jennies junior goalkeeper Brooke Cooley picked up her first win in-goal in 2012 after playing all 45 minutes of the second half.

The Jennies are back in action Saturday afternoon at the South Recreation Complex, hosting Emporia State in an MIAA match beginning at 4 p.m.
