Complete All-MIAA Release
KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- The Central Missouri Mules had 11 players named to the All-MIAA Football Team as announced by the conference office on Tuesday morning. The Mules had one player named to the conference's first team, three players named to the All-MIAA second team and seven players earn honorable mention honors.
Senior offensive lineman
Logan Freeman was UCM's lone first team selection. Second team honors went to senior defensive ends
David Bax and
Latavious Davis along with senior punter
Matt Jordan. Honorable mention honors went to junior quarterback
Colter Smith, junior wide receiver
Ronrei Lloyd, sophomore running back
LaVance Taylor, senior tight end
David Cannon, senior offensive lineman
Mark Schroeder, senior linebacker
Joe Carter and senior defensive back
Patrick Lewis.
Freeman started every game at center this season and started every game over his final three seasons for the Mules. This is the second straight first team nod for Freeman and the third all-conference honor of his career.
Bax earned his second straight All-MIAA award after earning honorable mention honors last season. He started every game at defensive end for the Mules, recording 40 tackles with 11.5 tackles for loss and six sacks.
Davis started every game at the opposite defensive end spot for UCM. He recorded 34 stops and led the defense with 12 tackles for loss and seven quarterback sacks. He also had a team-leading five forced fumbles.
Jordan was second in the MIAA in punting at 42.3 yards per kick with a career long of 69 yards. He had nine kicks of 50 or more yards and placed 25 inside the opponents' 20 yard line. This is the second all-conference honor for Jordan after earning honorable mention accolades last season.
Smith appeared in all 10 games for UCM, starting nine. He completed 63 percent of his passes for 2,782 yards and 20 touchdowns. He also added four rushing touchdowns to earn his first all-conference honor.
Lloyd earned all-conference honors in his first season with the Mules after catching a team-high 62 passes for 970 yards and eight touchdowns. He was fourth in the MIAA in receiving yards per game and fifth in receptions per game.
Taylor started all 10 games at running back for the Mules. He led the team with 672 rushing yards and eight touchdowns. He also caught 37 passes for 273 yards and a touchdown en route to his first all-conference award.
Cannon earned the second All-MIAA honor of his career after a first team nod in 2011. He caught 37 passes for 344 yards and two touchdowns. He finished his UCM career fourth all-time in school history with 132 receptions.
Schroeder earned his first All-MIAA honor after starting nine of 10 games on the offensive line. The senior started all but one game over the final two years of his career.
Carter finished second on the team in tackles this season with 62. He registered 9.5 tackles for loss and had one interception. He started every game over the past two seasons.
Lewis led the Mules in tackles for the second straight season en route to his second all-conference nod. His 73 total tackles and 37 solo stops were both team highs. He finished his career with 262 tackles to rank eighth all-time at Central Missouri.
The Mules finished the 2012 season at 6-4 overall and 6-4 in MIAA play.
