(WARRENSBURG, Mo.) – University of Central Missouri Mules Wrestling had a tough day at the UCM Dual Jamboree Sunday in the Multipurpose Building, dropping matches to Newman (26-23), Ouachita Baptist (40-10) and Mary (48-3). The Mules are now 1-9 overall in dual matches this season
            Central Missouri got off to a slow start in the first match against Newman, falling behind 14-0 before the Mules' Scott Neumann (Raymore, Mo.) had a technical fall (16-0) over Newman's JP Carter at 149 pounds to get the Mules on the scoreboard, 14-5. Zeb Spicer (Ozark, Mo.), at 157 pounds, continued the UCM rally after he pinned the Jets' Jake Hattabuagh in 3:53 to pull the Mules within three, 17-14. Central Missouri took its first lead after the 165 pound match when Todd Brier (Nevada, Mo.) pinned Newman's Alex Prine in 1:36, putting the Mules on-top 17-14. The Mules' Marcus Sundee (Harrisonville, Mo.) won his match at 174 pounds by forfeit, increasing the Central Missouri lead to 23-14. The Mules couldn't hold onto the lead though, dropping their final three matches to give the Jets a 26-23 victory.
            The Mules second opponent of the day was Ouachita Baptist. Central Missouri didn't fare well against the Tigers, only winning two matches to drop the match, 40-10. The Mules' Willie Ressel (Springfield, Mo.) won his match at 174 pounds against OBU's Philip Dolan on a 10-0 major decision while Todd Brier defeated the Tigers' Tyler Graham with a pin in 2:05 in the 165 pound match.
            The Mules finished the Dual Jamboree with the University of Mary Marauders, falling 48-3. Willie Ressel had the lone victory for Central Missouri, defeating Mary's John Devito with a 6-5 decision in the 174 pound match.
            Central Missouri returns to action Tuesday night, hosting its only home dual match of the season, against Hannibal-LaGrange at 7:30 p.m. in the UCM Multipurpose Building. It is also senior night and will be the final home match for the Mules' Willie Ressel, Scott Neumann, David Nicolaescu and Russell Naylor.
