Box Score (WARRENSBURG, Mo.) – The Central Missouri Mules jumped out to an 8-0 lead and scored 21 of the first 25 points of the game en route to a 114-45 win over Central Methodist on Sunday afternoon at the UCM Multipurpose Building.
The Mules (3-0) opened the game on a 21-4 run and quickly put the game away.
Dominique Long scored the first three points of the game on a traditional three-point play and UCM never looked back.
After a three by Alex Barner cut UCM's lead to 18 the Mules closed the half on a 32-6 run to lead 59-15 at the break.
The Mules shot 67 percent (24-of-36) in the first half, while Central Methodist (2-3) shot just 21 percent (6-of-28).
The second half was more of the same as the lead ballooned to as much as 72 at 109-37 with just over four minutes to play in the game.
Boo Hunter led all scorers with 20 points on 6-of-8 shooting as seven Mules finished in double figures.
Widgett Washington and
Alex Dean each had 15 points.
Yavario Smith had 13,
Dominique Newton chipped in 12 as did
Matt Webb and
Will Kirksey finished with 10. Dean led all players with nine rebounds.
Lance Beckwith had eight assists and Washington dished out seven assists.
The Mules shot 64 percent from the field (46-of-72) and were 9-of-16 from the three point line for 56 percent. Central Methodist shot just 27 percent (17-of-63) from the floor and 8-of-29 from beyond the arc for 28 percent. Elliott Black led the Eagles with nine points and six rebounds.
The 114 points are the most points scored by a Kim Anderson team since a 115-99 win over Southwest Baptist on December 6, 2009 and the 69-point win is the largest margin of victory during Anderson's tenure.
The Mules are back in action on Tuesday night when they host Rockhurst at 7 p.m. at the Multipurpose Building.
