(JOPLIN, Mo.) – The Central Missouri Mules ran away with their second straight conference title and the Jennies finished in seventh at the MIAA Championships on Saturday morning in Joplin, Mo. The title is the 14
th all-time for the Mules.
Laban Sialo won his second straight MIAA individual championship with an 8k time of 23:17.88, nearly 40 seconds faster than his winning time from a season ago. Teammate
Dalton Moberly finished in third with a time of 24:09.54. The Mules finished with five runners in the top 18 to score 53 points, 20 ahead of runner-up Northwest Missouri.
The Jennies moved up one spot from 2010 to finish in seventh place.
Kacy Hession was the Jens' top finisher in 15
th place with a 6k time of 22:17.53.
Katie West and
Ariel Dunn finished in 31
st and 32
nd place, respectively. West came in at 23:12.24 and Dunn was just behind her at 23:12.49.
The Mules and Jennies are back in action on November 5 at the South Central Regional in Wichita Falls, Texas.
