(EMPORIA, Kan.) – No. 3 Central Missouri Jennies soccer team stays flawless on the road today with a 4-1 victory over Emporia State at the ESU Pitch. It is the second consecutive and third game overall that UCM has scored four goals this season.
This win breaks multiple program records. The Jennies have now won seven straight road contests and 15 straight matches, dating back to last season. Those 15 straight wins is also the longest current winning streak in all of Division I and II.
Central Missouri (8-0, 6-0 MIAA) started things off on the right foot as the Jennies scored 10 minutes into the contest. Sophomore defender
Jenna Stones found the ball five feet out after a corner kick and sent it to the back of the net to put the Jennies on the board. Sophomore forward
Kayla Shain was credited with the assist, her third of the season. That was Stones' third goal of the season as well.
About 11 minutes later, UCM put the Hornets in a bigger hole with another goal, this time by freshman defender
Cindy Lackey. She stole the ball from an ESU player and kicked it in for her first goal of the season.
Emporia State cut its deficit in half on a goal by Sarah Anderson in the 29
th minute that took the game into the half with a 2-1 score.
In the 69
th minute, the Jennies added another goal. Junior midfielder
Alyssa Rhodes received a pass 20 yards out from Stones and headed the ball in just out of reach of the ESU goalie. Rhodes doubled her career goal total, recording her team-high tying fourth of the season. Stones has two assists on the season.
Late in the game, UCM added its fourth goal as freshman midfielder
Carly Stanley dribbled into the box and pushed the ball into the net. That was Stanley's second goal of the season.

Brooke Cooley played 80 minutes in net, collecting her sixth win of the season. Sophomore
Linnsie McMahan played the last 10 minutes, facing no shots.
The No. 3 Jennies will return home this weekend for a top-25 showdown when they welcome No. 22 Truman State on Saturday. Opening whistle is slated for 2:00 p.m. from Jennies Field.
