Pitts was a two-time All-MIAA linebacker for the Mules including earning First Team honors in 1983. Pitts still ranks fifth all-time at UCM with 302 total tackles and his 133 tackles in 1983 are the third-most in a single-season in UCM history. He was a part of the MIAA Co-Championship team in 1983, the Mules first since 1970.
