Complete GCAA All-America Release
NORMAN, Okla. -- Central Missouri freshman golfer
Robby Hughey was named to the Division II PING Honorable Mention All-America Team as announced by the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA) on Tuesday. Hughey was one of only two players from the MIAA and the Central Region to earn All-America honors.
An Overland Park, Kan. native, Hughey had three top five finishes and one victory during his freshman campaign. He captured the NCAA Division II Central/Midwest Super Regional title with a 13-under par, 203. In 31 rounds played he finished with a 74.97 stroke average. This is the first All-America honor for Hughey.
The Mules were runners-up in the MIAA this year before capturing the Super Regional championship for the second straight season. UCM went on to finish in 15th place at the NCAA Division II Championships in Hershey, Pa.
