KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- No. 12 and top seed Jennies soccer will host eighth seed Southwest Baptist in the opening round of the 2012 MIAA Soccer Tournament Tuesday evening at 7 p.m. at the South Recreation Complex in Warrensburg.
The Jennies defeated Lindenwood Saturday night, 4-0, to claim their third straight MIAA Regular Season Title and the fifth title in the past six seasons. The victory also gave the Jens the top seed in the Tournament.
Opening round matches will kick-off Tuesday afternoon with third seed Truman hosting sixth seed Fort Hays State at 2 p.m. in Kirksville then at 3 p.m. second seed Central Oklahoma will battle seventh seed Missouri Southern in Edmond. Evening matches Tuesday will feature the top seed Jennies and eighth seed Bearcats at 7 p.m. and fourth seed Northeastern State will host fifth seed Northwest Missouri State in Tahlequah, also at 7 p.m.
Tickets for the MIAA Tournament are $5 with the exception of children 6 & under, who are admitted free of charge. No MIAA VIP Passes will be accepted.
Any Central Missouri students wishing to attend the Jennies opening round match Tuesday will receive free admission compliments of UCM President, Dr. Chuck Ambrose.
Dr. Ambrose has purchased tickets on a first-come, first-serve basis for UCM students wishing to attend the Tournament. Students will need to show valid UCM ID to receive a free ticket to the match.
Should the Jennies advance and host the semi-finals and championship Friday and Sunday, Dr. Ambrose will provide student tickets to each of those matches if the Jennies advance, also on a first-come, first-serve basis to UCM Students with valid ID.
