Henry Mason
Football / Baseball – 1974-77

Arguably one of the finest athletes ever to don the Cardinal & Black, Henry Mason was a two-time honorable mention All-American in football and a two-time first-team All-MIAA selection in baseball. On the gridiron, Mason grabbed 122 passes for 1,935 yards and 14 touchdowns.  He holds the school record for the longest touchdown reception in school history (89 yards vs. Missouri Western in 1975), and is second in school history in receptions, third in receiving yards, and fourth in receiving touchdowns.  In 1978, Mason was drafted in the 11th round by the Baltimore Colts. On the baseball diamond, Mason boasted a career batting average of .382, tied for seventh best in school history. He holds the
school record for highest batting average in a season (.565 in 1975), and shares the Mules’ single-game records for hits (five vs. Missouri-Rolla in 1975) and stolen bases (five vs. Lincoln in 1976).  Mason is currently the wide receivers coach at the University of Wisconsin.
