1968 Mules Football Team
7-2-1 Mineral Water Bowl

Under the leadership of head coach Howard Mahanes, the 1968 Mules Football team posted an overall record of 7-2-1 and finished second in the MIAA with a conference mark of 4-1. UCM earned a berth in the Mineral Water Bowl in Excelsior Springs, Missouri, falling to Doane (Neb.), 10-0, on November 30. The 1968 Mules featured three All-Americans in Jim Urczyk (First Team, OL), Mike Wunderly (Honorable Mention, OL), and John Richison (Honorable Mention, DE). Urczyk was the inaugural First Team All-American in program history. In addition, seven student-athletes on the 1968 team earned All-MIAA accolades in Steve Eckinger (QB), Urczyk (OL), Clark Frost (WR), Charles Ashley (LB), Richison (DE), Herb Robinson (DE), and Bob Guice (DB).
